For tutorials, as well as practicals, students are grouped into smaller groups of around 20 persons. This is unlike lectures where the students are in big groups of hundreds.
Before coming to these tutorials, students are required to do their assignments that are given to them on weekly basis. These assignments are usually based on topics covered in the previous week's lectures. The submission of the weekly assignments usually contributes to 2% of the total marks for most subjects. (Participation marks)
Every tutorial group have a different timetable to follow, which may vary from time to time in every semester.
Occassionally, we also have what we called the 'E-learning week', where a selected subject will have its tutorial 'cancelled' so pupils need not attend it for the week. Instead, pupils are to complete an online assignment over at OLE. The submission of these online assignments also contributes to the class participation marks. |
